Title IX was signed into laws on June 23, 1972. We are celebrating this landmark law that has resulted in immense growth in female sports participation by offering a FREE clinic for girls entering grades 6 thru 12. This is a great opportunity for girls to explore a new sport and learn about efforts to close the gap athletic offerings and opportunities offered to them at the secondary and even collegiate levels.
Beyond professional players from the Dallas Jackals, there will be players from collegiate and local women's rugby teams to provide encouragement and mentorship. So whether you've never played or have experience, it'll be fun, educational, and a chance to meet more friends.
Rugby is now played by females on over 250 colleges/universities campuses in the United States. These include Ivy League colleges and major public universities to small colleges and HBCUs as well as all Military Academies. A growing number of NCAA & NAIA schools support rugby as a varsity sport. Rugby has been a Summer Olympic Sport since 2016 for both men and women’s teams. And, the DFW Metroplex along with the rest of North America will host the Rugby World Cup in 2031 (men) and 2033 (women). More recently, the professionalization of women’s rugby is also taking root with teams establishing across the U.S.A.
